Andrew lost his battle with cancer on September 23, 2017, at the age of 87.
Andrew is survived by his seven children; Diana Hourany and wife Diane of San Francisco, Kathy Loza and husband Jose of Castro Valley, Rosella Duarte and husband Jesse of Odessa, Andrew Jr Gomez and wife Sandra of San Mateo, CA,
Rita Brice and husband Leslie of San Angelo, Mark Gomez of El Sobrante, CA, Gloria Nixon and husband Shane of Atlanta, TX; his sister Carmen Maestas of Manteca Ca. and his special friend Delores Ramirez of San Angelo, TX. He also leaves behind 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who have always loved their extra special uncle.
Andrew was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years Mary (Ruiz), his brother Don and sister Rose. Andrew was born on June 15, 1930 in Littlefield, TX. He served stateside in the Korean War and spent most of his career as an auto mechanic. Andrew was a devout Catholic and spent countless hours serving the church. His gift of playing the guitar and singing was enjoyed by all. The family wishes to thank Hospice of San Angelo for their tender loving care of their father.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 27, 2017, from 11-9pm with Rosary at 7PM at Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Stockton, Texas. Funeral service will be on Thursday, September 28, 2017, beginning at 10:00am at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Stockton, Texas.
