Augustina "Tina" Villegas, age 85, passed away on Friday, October 23th, 2015. She was a residence of Fort Stockton for 69 years after moving from Sanderson, Texas. She was a faithful member of the Saint Joseph Catholic Church. She was a girl scout assistant-leader, a band-aider for the Pride of Pantherland Band, and a supporter of the "Sheriff's Association", a member of the V.F.W.-ladies auxiliary, "Texas State Troopers" and "Disabled American Veterans. Above all she worked as a nurses' aid with Dr. Lester in Sanderson and with Mrs. Nance the mother of a well-respected Texas Ranger, Jim Nance.
She is survived by her sons: Little Bear Villegas and wife Lisa of Trinidad, Colorado and Robert Villegas Mireles and wife Michelle of Odessa, TX.; her daughters Gloria V. Mireles and husband Jose of Fort Stockton, TX, Evelyn Villegas of Fort Worth, TX, and Judy Villegas of Portland, Oregon; her brothers Castulo Calzada and wife Chonita, Manuel Calzada, and Joe Calzada and wife Sandra; her sister Nellie Moreno, her 21 grandchildren; 5 greatgrandchildren; and 6 great-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father Manuel Calzada and mother Soledad Calzada, her husband Berto Torres Villegas Sr.; her son Eddie Berto Villegas Jr.; her daughter Mary Frances Henry; her brothers Castulito Calzada and Pedro Calzada; her sisters Genevieve Cerda, Gloria Calzada, Carmen Ortiz, and Maria Moreno; and her 5 beloved grandchildren.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 29th, 2015 from 11-6 p.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home. The Rosary will follow at 7p.m. on Thursday, October 29th, 2015 at the Saint Joseph Catholic Church. A second Rosary will take place at 9:00 a.m. at Saint James Catholic Church in Sanderson, TX on Friday, October 30th, 2015, the funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. with Reuben Reyes officiating burial will follow at Santa Rita Cemetery. Her pallbearers will be Little Bear Villegas, Robert Villegas Mireles, John Michael Castaneda, Nieves R. Ortiz, Paul Angel Gallegos, and Isaac Anthony Gallegos.
