Candida Rascon Salcido of Fort Stockton passed away Monday, January 18, 2016 in Odessa at the age of 93 years. Candida was born on May 8, 1922, to Liborio Rascon and Estafana Gomez in Fort Stockton. She was a Guadalapana.
Candida is survived by her daughter, Alicia Salcido; her son Domingo R. Salcido Jr. and wife Laura; her brother Luciano Rascon; her three grandchildren: Jaime Domingo Salcido and wife Stacy, Jessica Salcido, and Selina Salcido; her three great grandchildren: James Salcido, Lacie Salcido, and Patrick Salcido.
Candida was preceded in death by her husband, Domingo O. Salcido; her daughters, Trini Salcido and Lupe Salcido; her parents, Liborio Rascon and Estafana Gomez; her brothers, Hipolito Rascon, and Domingo Rascon; her four sisters: Viviana Mejia, Lala Gutierrez, Merejilda Carrasco, and Fernanda Thompson.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 22, 2016 from 11a.m. to 7p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in downtown Fort Stockton. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Saturday morning, January 23, 2016 starting at 10:00 a.m., at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Fort Stockton. Burial will follow at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery.
