Charles F. (Foster) Cox, 80, of Fort Stockton, Texas passed away on December 5, 2024.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend at 301 N. Main Street in Fort Stockton, Texas from 2 - 8 pm. Family will be in attendance from 2 - 4 pm. A viewing with the family will be held on Monday, December 30, 2024, at 10:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 1802 N. Marshall Street, Fort Stockton, Texas. Funeral Services will immediately follow at the same venue at 11:00 am, followed by his burial at the East Hill Cemetery, Old Cemetery Road, Fort Stockton, Texas. 

 Foster was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 28, 1944, to Coleman Foster (C.F.) Cox, Jr. and Mary Elizabeth White. He grew up on his parents' ranch outside of Sanderson, TX and learned the value of hard work and being self-sufficient. Foster graduated from Sul Ross State University in 1966 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts. Foster got his teaching certificate and taught at Zia Junior High School in Artesia, New Mexico. He found and married the love of his life Patricia Hawkins on June 9, 1970. They moved to the ranch outside of Fort Stockton, Texas and they lived and worked there his entire life. They raised their 8 daughters on the ranch. Foster loved his daughters and taught them all he could about hunting, shooting and running a ranch. He loved learning and he was always fixing things, he also loved building things and made many things for his family, including a rocking horse, beds for the girls and a sewing cabinet for Pat. Foster learned amateur radio and Morse Code and was active in the amateur radio community he is now a silent key, WD5CGL. He served both as member and director of the Trans Pecos Soil & Water Conservation District. He was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various positions. Foster loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and shared his love of the Savior with others through service and his example. 

Foster is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Pat; 8 daughters: Carrie Norton, Bonnie (Seth) Warnock, Christy (Jeremy) Richards, Laura (Grant) Hildebrand, Julie (Ryan) Martindale, Susan Foster, Stephanie Pattison, Michelle Boblitz; 14 Grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Kyron, Taylen and Makyna Richards; Makenzy and Garet Hildebrand; Emmy, Josie, Alex and Nic Martindale; Adelaine and Mick Pattison; Ari and Cole Torres.

 Foster is predeceased by his father, Coleman Foster (C.F.) Cox, Jr. and mother, Mary Elizabeth White; His brother, Coleman Wesley (C.W.) Cox; two sisters, Maudie Lou Cox (Gober) and Charlotte Elizabeth Cox (Martin); and son in law, Larry Norton.
