On Sunday, October 30, 2016, Charles "Clawhammer" Laban Fouch Jr. succumbed to a short illness at the age of 78. He was surrounded by his loved ones. Charles was born on November 25, 1937 to Charles and Dorothy Fouch Sr. in Lower Lake, California.
He served in the Army from 1958 to 1963. While serving at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, he met Maria Martinez. While they were both enlisted, they got married June 1, 1960, in California. Upon being honorably discharged from the Army, they moved to California where they started a family and had three children. He relocated their family to Texas where he started his career at Firestone Test Center. During this time, he acquired the name "Clawhammer" when he started working construction and eventually transitioned to owning their own business, "Clawhammer RV and Appliance Repair" in 1976. For 39 years he served the local community and surrounding areas as an RV and appliance repair and technician.
Clawhammer is survived by his wife Maria (Marty) Fouch; son Charles L. Fouch III and his wife Mona of Florida; daughters Elizabeth (Fouch) Maloney and her husband Daniel of Maryland and Jennifer (Fouch) Toole and her husband Maurice of Colorado; sister Bonnie (Fouch) Jensen of Idaho; 6 grandchildren and 2 step-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Dorothy Fouch Sr. and his brother Gary "Butch" Fouch.
