Charlotte Faye Big Mama Hammond age 76, of Fort Stockton passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014. Charlotte was born September 13, 1937 in Anniston, Alabama. Her parents were Lindsey and Ruby Williamson. She married Jack Hammond in Portales, New Mexico on July 13, 1952. She loved country gospel music and in her youth sang with several wellknown artists. She has lived in Fort Stockton since 1982. Big Mamas family greatly admired her inner strength, her deep love for God and for people and her devotion to her children and grandchildren.
Charlotte is survived by her 3 daughters, Jackie Coomer and husband Gerald of Lubbock, Texas Kim White husband Larry of Fort Stockton Kelly Dilbeck husband David of Odessa, Texas by her sister Eva Lee Bentley of Lubbock by 7 grandchildren, 11 greatgrandchildren and 2 greatgreat grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack and her sister Louise Dorsett.
Visitation will be held at Gods Feeding Word church, 209 N. Main, Fort Stockton on Friday, February 7 from 2 8 p.m. Funeral service will take place at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 301 N. Main on Saturday, February 8 at 10 a.m. Graveside service will follow at East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton.
