Clara Koenig Martin (October 11, 1939 - March 13, 2025).
Clara Martin was the rock of our family, her journey on this earth marked by love, friendship, a love of God and a sweet tooth that knew no bounds. Clara was a devoted wife to her late husband, Charles Martin, for 33 years. They raised two children, Russell, who predeceased her, and their daughter Mindy. That small family has blossomed into a bustling family of grandchildren and great-grandchildren with Clara as the proud matriarch. Clara is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Mindy and Raymond Gray, her grandchildren, Brandon and Jennifer Martin, Amber Martin, Erin Taylor, Mindy Martin, Oliver and Elizabeth Gray, and Andrew Gray and his fiance, Rachel Frnka. Nothing made Clara's eyes sparkle like her great-grandchildren: Zane Roberts, Isaac Robson, Mason Link, Harrison Martin, Everli and Hayes Taylor, and Edith Gray. Clara was blessed with three brothers and two sisters, and will bedearly missed by her surviving siblings, older brother Otto Koenig, Jr, younger brother Lester Koenig, and her baby sister, Shirley Dach. Some may remember Clara, or "Mickey" when she worked at the Steakhouse in Ft. Stockton for many years, or at the Firestone Test Center, or likely at her C+C Flea Market, Estate Sales & Antiques. She left Fort Stockton in 2008, moving to Bastrop, Texas to be closer to her family before moving in with Mindy and Raymond several years ago. Eighty-five years is long enough to lead a good and full life, and Clara did that. But it is not nearly long enough for those she leaves behind, who cherish her memory, her generosity and her love.
