Don Randall Deaton, 75, of Sanderson, Texas, died Monday, November 6, 2023, after a long battle with cancer and is now in Gods loving arms.
Services for Don Randall Deaton have been arranged by Heritage Funeral home of the Big Bend of Fort Stockton, Texas and will be held Monday, November 27, 2023, at the First Baptist Church 403 1st. Street of Sanderson, Texas 79848. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 11:00am, Church service 11:00am to 12:00 noon with his burial at Sanderson Cemetery.
Don began his career in the healthcare field as a Respiratory Therapist when he was 19 years old and continued in that field for seven years. His next career for three years was working as a Physician's assistant in Sanderson, Texas alongside his Dear friend, Michael P. Longley, M.D. Don received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Parker College in Dallas, Texas, later worked as a professor at Parker for 23 years and retired in 2011. He then returned to the family ranch in Sanderson, Texas which was the place he loved most of all. Don lived an interesting life, Don loved flying and was a licensed pilot. He only flew smaller aircraft (Cessnas and Cherokees) but also owned ultralight airplanes and flew them at the ranch in Sanderson. He also enjoyed motorcycle trips with friends. Don and Debbie both became certified scuba divers and made several dive trips to Cozumel, Mexico.
Don is proceeded in death by his parents, Jack W. Deaton and Dorthy (Sutton) Deaton. Don is survived by his wife, Debbie (Cochran) Deaton, Son Douglas Deaton of McKinney, Texas and daughter Diane (Deaton) Street of Louisville, Kentucky, 3 grandchildren Allison Deaton, Jack F. Deaton and Maggie Street, brothers David Deaton and Jack W. Deaton and sister Lois (Deaton) White, cousins Roy Deaton, Scott Sutton, Sandy (Sutton) Sargent and Leigh Anne Sutton and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Deaton, Jack Deaton, Richard Blake, Joe Parrish, Scott Sutton and David Brotherton
Memorials can be gifted to The First Baptist Church of Sanderson, Texas and charity of your choosing.
