Eleno L. Sanchez of Fort Stockton passed away Saturday, July 7, 2018, in Fort Stockton at the age of 74 years. He was born on April 18, 1944, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Juan F. Sanchez and Carlotta Leyva.
He worked in the oilfield as a mechanic for many years. Loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and any sports on TV. He enjoyed coaching Little League Baseball for many years. He also enjoyed going to Big Bend on fishing trips with his father; cousins, and family whenever possible. He loved playing "washers" at any event. He always had his little sayings which we all remember.
Eleno is survived by his sons; Daniel Sanchez and wife Debra of San Antonio, John Joe Sanchez and wife Cassandra of Fort Stockton; daughters, Selina Saunders and husband David of Fort Stockton, Stephanie Hernandez and husband Marty Ruiz of Fort Stockton, Sandra Bivens and husband Ken of Delaware, Sonia Sweeney of Fort Stockton Sue Lynn Sanchez; sisters, Elena Blackman, Dora Sanchez, Clara Aranda, Anita Gosselin, Jana Salas; 11 grandchildren and 5 great- grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Juan F. Sanchez and Carlotta Leyva; son, Sparky Sanchez; sisters, Kate Alonso, Mary Verdoza, and Connie Dominguez.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 from 9-1 at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2pm at Heritage Funeral Home, with burial to follow at East Hill Cemetery.
