Elvira T. Montalvo of Midland passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018, in Midland, Texas at the age of 87 years. She was born on May 2, 1931 in Knippa, Texas, to Carlos and Felicitas Talavera.
Elvira was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a devout Catholic and very active at Saint James Catholic Church. She was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the choir, and the Guadalupanas. She was very active in all her children and grandchildren's activities, especially sports.
Elvira is survived by her sons, Daniel Montalvo of Midland, Richard Montalvo and wife Paula of Sanderson, Marco Montalvo and wife Kimberly of Midland; her daughters, Elizabeth Lara and husband Larry of Fort Stockton, Maria Alicia Garcia and husband Joe of Midland, Laura Spencer and husband Alex of Odessa, Susana Gonzales and husband Jose of Marathon, Catalina Jimenez and husband Patrick of San Antonio; her brother, Carlos Talavera Jr.; her sister, Estella A. Silva; her twenty-eight grandchildren; and her twenty-eight great grandchildren.
Elvira is preceded in death by her husband Espiridion Montalvo; her mother, Felicitas Talavera; her father, Carlos Talavera Sr.; her daughter, Carmela Montalvo; her brothers, Manuel Talavera, Ismael Talavera, Richard Talavera.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 31, 2018 from 9am-10am with Rosary at 10am, and funeral service at 11am at Saint James Catholic Church in Sanderson, Texas. Burial will follow at Santa Rita Cemetery.
