Evelyn "Nell" Blackmon Trammell of Alpine passed away Wednesday, February 17th, 2016, in Fort Stockton at the age of 88 years. Evelyn was born on May 3, 1927 to Oscar Blackmon and Floy Edna Rose Vaden in Crowell, TX.
She was a dedicated housewife and mother. She always enjoyed meeting new friends. She never met a stranger and made friends wherever she went. Her and Jack Calvert lived in Kermit, Texas till 1963 and then moved to Odessa. Then they moved to Mesquite, Texas in 1965. She loved going antique shopping in Forney, Texas. She lost her second husband, WJ Trammell in 1998 and moved back to west Texas in 2000 to Alpine. She then met Eva Calderon, who became her beauty operator and they became best friends. Her other best friend was Elaine Davenport. She will truly be missed.
Evelyn is survived by her three sons: Stephen Harold Calvert, Michael Olan Calvert, and Randy Dale Calvert; her brother: Ruben J. Rose; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband: WJ Trammell and her parents: Oscar Blackmon and Floy Edna Rose Vaden.
Graveside service will be on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 2p.m. at East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton.
