Froilo Gonzalez

Froilo Bernard Gonzalez, age 84, passed away Thursday, December 26. He was born on January 21, 1929 in Midland, TX. Froilo was a cattle rancher and owned a dirt hauling business. He was retired from the Firestone Testing Center and worked many years for the Texas Highway Department.

Mr. Gonzalez is survived by his wife, Maria Etelvina Ramirez Gonzalez of Fort Stockton and his children sons Froilo R. Gonzalez, Jr. of Fort Stockton and Billy R. Gonzalez and wife JoAnn of Odessa daughters Dinah G. Rowley and husband Ronald of Fort Stockton, Elma G. Maldonado and husband Robert of Monahans, Patsy G. Mesa and husband Willie of Odessa, Nattie G. Martinez and husband Martin of Loudon, TN, and Lisa G. Chavarria and husband Ruben of Fort Stockton. Other survivors include his sisters Emma G. Ramirez of Midland, Alicia G. Valenzuela, Jesusita Mesa, and Francisca Casas all of Fort Stockton, Dorothy G. Stokes of Abilene and Reyes Ramirez of San Angelo. Mr. Gonzales is also survived by his soninlaw Frank Acosta of Andrews as well as 16 grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren, and 7 Great Great Grandchildren. Froilo was preceded in death by his parents Juan R. and Eliza B. Gonzalez, his daughter Bessie G. Acosta, brothers Pedro Gonzalez, Isidoro Gonzalez, Manuel Ismael Gonzalez of Fort Stockton and his sister Guadalupe Gonzalez Urias.

Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home of The Big Bend, 301 N. Main St., Fort Stockton, TX on Saturday, December 28, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and also on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Rosary will begin at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Pall bearers are Glen Crihfield, Steven Shae Acosta, Robbie Maldonado, Jacoby Gonzalez, Cody Joe Gonzalez, Chris Chavarria, B.J. Gonzalez and Kacy Chavarria.
