Glenn Cornett

January 12, 1935 — April 6, 2021

Glenn Wesley Cornett went to be with his Lord and Savior in his eternal heavenly home on April 6, 2021 at the age of 86 years old. He was born in Ranger, Texas on January 12,1935 to Irma and George Cornett. They moved to Welsh, Texas where they lived on a farm and he attended school. He met the love of his life in Big Spring, Texas in 1953 at the skating rink. They were married on February 9,1955 in Big Spring, Texas. Glenn joined the Army in 1954 and was discharged in 1962. The family lived in Big Spring, Texas and he worked at a sheet metal shop. In 1966 the family moved to Fort Stockton, Texas and he worked for Powell Plumbing. He later worked for Valero and retired in 1997. After moving to Fort Stockton Glenn was baptized and was a devout Christian his entire life.
Glenn made his family a wonderful loving home. He built two barns, horse pens, horse stalls, and garage. He always had a garden that flourished. One of his proudest accomplishments was his red 1949 Chevy pickup that he built from the frame up. He made sterling silver jewelry for everyone in the family. He raised cattle, sheep, alfalfa, and planted numerous trees around the house. He had many dogs that he loved and Hallie was his last dog that was by his side when he passed away. He always told his children that "you could do anything you put your mind to" and he also lived by that motto. He loved to travel (Hawaii, New England, California, Wyoming to his grandson's Nat'l Finals Rodeo), play 42, hunt, and fish. He knew how to tell the best jokes. He attended all family celebrations. Glenn was a perfect example of what a man should be: a leader to Christ, family centered and hard working. He was truly loved by his entire family. All his family and friends will truly miss our loved cowboy! But the love of his life of 66 years will forever miss his smiling face and jokes!
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Eleanor Cornett, children; Glenna Cornett Dulaney and husband Johnny, Ross Cornett and wife Tammy, Lori Cornett Stennett and husband Dale, Wade Cornett and wife Denise. Grandchildren; Julie Simmons (Landry and Blakely), Jami Dale (Tatum and Dustee Grace), Becky Dulaney (Brantly and Presley), Nicole and Tim McLean (Alyssa, Madelyn, Daylan), Katie and Matthew Tules (Bailee, Chandler, Peyton), Hunter and Nicole Stennett, Brooke and Mikey Scown, Britney Cornett, Caleb and Jordan Harrison (Charlie Grace), Ryan Harrison (Brody), Tyson Cornett, Clay and Heather Ward (Piper), Shyann and Michael Hunt (Irie, Bryson, Weston), Sterling and Kim Ward (Kassie and Kylie) and his sisters: Midge Hobbs and Nola Howard.
