Harold Eugene Thompson, age 87, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 13, 2014. He was born in Yoakum, Texas on August 19, 1927 to Sam and Callie Thompson.
He was a Veteran of WWII where he served our country in Guam. A Member of the U.S.N and was a member of the American Legion for 63 years. He retired as district manager of Texas New Mexico Power Company. He also owned the Dairy King in Sanderson for 18 years where he gave jobs to over 54 of Sandersons residence.
Mr. Thompson is survived by his son, Vernon Thompson and wife Clair daughter, Raeline Thompson brother, JD James Daniel Thompson step grandchildren, Benjamin and David Ferontwo, grandchildren, Jennifer ThompsonOberholtzer and husband Erik, Cristian Thompson and wife Destiny two great grandchildren, Scarlette Eva Elizabeth Thompson, Maddysun Ferguson as well as 39 nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father wife, Eva Earline Elizabeth Thompson brothers, Harvey Thompson, Buster Thompson, Ray Thompson, Joe Thompson, Gains Thompson, David Thompson sisters Mae Thompson, and Shirley Johnson.
A visitation will take place at First Calvary Baptist church from 5:00 pm. 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014. A Funeral Service will take place at First Calvary Baptist Church in Sanderson at 1 pm, on Tuesday, November 18, 2014, burial will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Davis, John Dewy Stutes, Eric Cooksey, Chago Flores, Tommy Author, and Thaddeus Cleveland. Honorary Pallbearers are Elizabeth Sugars, Della Rodriguez, Victoria Busch and Donna Mapes. Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend of Fort Stockton has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family request that you send a donation to a breast cancer cure organization in his name.
