Irma Ortega Johnston reunited with her Lord and Savior on November 17, 2021. Irma was born and raised in Fort Stockton, Texas, where she was educated. Irma moved to El Paso Texas in 1968, she returned to Fort Stockton where she worked as a care giver, working at the nursing home and as a physical therapist assistant, later became a Correctional Officer. She became a certified nursing assistant working at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in College Station, Texas. She died from complications of COVID at Baylor Scott & White Hospital where she cared for those who were ill.
Irma is survived by her husband; Dwight Dwayne Johnston, her brother Mario Ramos, her Son; Joe Adrian and wife Debbie Ortega of Alexandra, Louisiana. Mike Vasquez JR. of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, daughter; Judy and husband Jimmy Gonzales of Bryan, Texas. Her grandchildren Manuela, Hanna, Christian, Adrianna, Roman, Hope, Faith, Devon, Jimmy Jr and Elizabeth. Mother Lucia Ramos King of College Station, Texas, half-brother Robert Ortega, brother-in-law Curtis Johnston, sisters-in-law Billie Logan, and Roze Finley, stepchildren Alexis, Mookie, Dwight Jr. and La Quenton.
Viewing will be Monday, November 22, 2021, from 12:00PM – 6:00PM. There will be a Rosary Monday, November 22, 2021, at 5:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home Fort Stockton, Texas. Funeral service will be Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 2:00PM with Isai Rodriguez officiating at Heritage Funeral Home Fort Stockton, Texas.
