Iva Collins

Iva Aline Harral Collins passed away on July 5. 2017. She was born in dear Fort Stockton on March 12, 1923 to Alph and Georgia Harral. She went to the University of Texas and graduated with a Home Economics degree. Iva Aline soon married her high school sweetheart, John Collins. He was training for the air force during World War II. I've loved her stories of their adventures during flight school and military training. They later settled in Waco as he attended Law School. Then off to Dallas for a lifetime of motherhood, being a housewife and being John's right hand. They had two sweet children Aline Collins and Andy Collins. Oh the memories of growing up with this bunch. Both children and John preceded Iva Aline in death. Iva Aline then moved back to Fort Stockton to join her nephew DA Harral and family and her niece Beth Holstein and family. And oh how she enriched all our lives. She gave us a roadmap of how to live, adjust, and count our blessings. She lived the last 4 years in Fort Stockton and lived an active life enjoying the Presbyterian Church, the Methodist Church, the Public Library, the Literary Club and all her family. She is leaving behind her sister Carol Harral Hardwick, brother George Harral, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews and even great great nieces and nephews, and the Warnocks, longtime family friends and the Bentley King family on Uncle John's side. Blessed. And she is leaving behind such wonderful memories.
We are having a memorial at the ranch for our dear Aunt Iva Aline on Saturday, July 8th at 10:00 at DA and Angela's house.
Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. We will drive to the top of the mountain to have a short service with Jim Miles and sprinkle ashes. Then we will go to their barn for an enchilada dinner. All are welcome. We want to celebrate this lovely lady who taught us so much. ߌ»
Go east on I 10 for 18 miles then exit number 277 turn right or south FM 2023 for 8 miles. Then turn left and it says Harral Livestock Company.
