Jose Ortega Jr.

Jose "Joe" Chavarria Ortega, Jr. of Fort Stockton passed away Thursday, January 11, 2018, in Fort Stockton at the age of 70 years. He was born on June 23, 1947, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Jose Ortega and Alejandra Chavarria Ortega.
Joe is survived by his wife, Criselda Villegas Ortega; his son, Trey Ortega and wife Alexandra Ortega of Fort Stockton; his stepson, Marcos A. Salmon and wife Marysa Salmon; his stepdaughter, Irma S. Aguirre; his sisters, Susie S. Galindo, Alicia Nativadad, Amelia Renteria; his grandchildren, Jose Cruz Ortega, Eli Lee Ortega, Aaliyah Ortega, Leonardo Ovalles, Joseph Cantu, Eric Cantu, Brianna Aguirre, Marcos A Salmon II, Melinda Salmon; his six great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Jose Ortega and Alejandra Chavarria Ortega.
Visitation will be on Sunday, January 14th, 2018, from 12-5pm with rosary beginning at 7pm at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Stockton, Texas. Funeral service will be on Monday, January 15th, 2018, beginning at 10:30am at Saint Joseph Church in Fort Stockton, Texas with Ruben Reyes. Burial will follow at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery.
