Jose Olivas Quintela age 88 of Fort Stockton, Texas passed away on November 16, 2023.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 1:00pm -7:00pm with a rosary to follow at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend 301 N. Main Street Fort Stockton, Texas. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 10:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church 403 S. Main St. Fort Stockton, Texas, officiating will be Father Francis Njoku. Burial to follow at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery.

Jose Olivas Quintela was born on March 19,1935 to parents Julio and Antonia Quintela in Fort Stockton, Texas. He married the love of his life Socorro on November 30,1958. Jose was a true cowboy he loved his horses Woody, Rojo, Bo and Pete. He loved going on trailrides and joining in parades. Horses were his true passion. Jose was proceeded in death by his wife Socorro Quintela, Sons Rene Quintela, Joe Quintela Jr., his parents Julio and Antonia Quintela, One sister Esperanza Celaya and 3 brothers Clayto, Abel and Julio. Jose is survived by his brother Jesus Quintela, children Elizabeth, Joel, Freddie (Patsy), Dianne (George), Joe Jr. (Nancy), Ruben, Rene, and Leslie; 14 Grandchildren and 26 Great-grandchildren and his furry partners 2 dogs and 1 horse.
