Kim Schiermeyer Walters of Fort Stockton passed away Thursday July 27th, 2017, in Austin at the age of 59 years. Kim was born on September 6, 1957, in Lubbock, Texas to Georgia Irene Crawford.
Kim lived in Fort Stockton all of her life. She was in many pageants during the Fort Stockton Water Carnival and won Miss Teen Fort Stockton in 1973. She enjoyed swimming and was part of the Fort Stockton High School swim team. She often spent time at Balmorhea St. Park where she taught her daughter to swim. Some of her hobbies included talking on the phone with her friends, watching crime and mystery T.V., playing with her two dogs, Kiser and Jack, and coloring. Kim appreciated a good sunset and had a love for music. Her favorites included Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty, and Fleetwood Mac. She also had a vast knowledge of astrology. During her recent time in Austin, Kim enjoyed sitting on the deck, watching her grandkids play in the pool, watching deer walk up to the fence, hummingbirds buzz by, and new flowers bloom. She was a loving grandmother, and mother. Her time on Earth was too short but she will live in our hearts forever. She will be missed greatly.
