Lillian Hernandez Castelo of Fort Stockton passed away Monday, January 18, 2016, in Fort Stockton at the age of 89 years. Lillian was born on September 2, 1926, to Jose Luna Hernandez and Rumalda Cano Rodriguez in Grandfalls, Texas.
She was involved in the Garden Club and the Fort Stockton Historical Society and was the co-owner of Henry's Cleaning.
Lillian is survived by her daughter, Gloria Espino and husband Manuel of Fort Stockton; her brother Joe Hernandez of Fort Stockton; her two sisters: Alicia H. Arcides of Fort Stockton and Manuela H. Criswell of Hobbs, NM; her three grandchildren: Ydolina Maria Espino, Rumalda Benigna Berry and husband Josh, Manuel Enrique Espino and wife Roianne; seven great grandchildren: Jazmine, Griffin, Camryn, Aidan, Jadon, Katarina, and Zarek.
Lillian was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Castelo; her parents Jose Luna Hernandez and Rumalda Cano Rodriguez and her brother, Abel R. Hernandez.
The pallbearers will be Aldo Arcides, John Paul Hernandez, Fidel Cardona, Johnny Losoya, Auden Arcides, and Josh Berry.
Visitation will be on Thursday January 21, 2016 from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in downtown Fort Stockton. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on
Thursday night. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday morning, January 22, 2016, starting at 11:00 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Fort Stockton. Burial will follow at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery.
