Manuel Moreno Ontiveros Sr. of Fort Stockton passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the age of 78. A lifelong resident of Fort Stockton, Manuel was born here on September 17, 1936 to Seferino and Dolores Moreno Ontiveros. He spent most of his adult life working on many different ranches throughout the area. Later on, he also became an experienced welder. His ranching experience gave him a great love of the outdoors and working with animals. He married Micaela Martinez on November 22 1962 and they have been together for 52 years and raised 8 children.
Manuel is survived by Micaela, his beloved wife daughter, Elma Ontiveros Terrazas and husband Luis of Fort Stockton sons, Manuel Ontiveros McCall of El Paso, Texas, Armando Ontiveros Sr. and wife Silvia of Fort Stockton, Roy Ontiveros and wife Martha of El Paso, Javier M. Ontiveros and wife Traci of Fort Stockton, Hector Ontiveros and wife Marissa of Fort Stockton brother, Robert Ontiveros of Victoria, Texas and sisters Francisca Flores of Fort Stockton and Nena Ximenez of San Antonio, Texas. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and 9 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Seferino and Dolores sons, Rey , Javier and Manuel Ontiveros Jr. brother, Eusebio Ontiveros and sisters, Lasara Acosta and Clara Caballero.
Visitation will take place at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, December 14 from 123:00 p.m. A Celebration of Manuels life will be held on Monday, December 15 at 10:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home under the direction of Pastor Richard Martinez. Graveside service will follow at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery.
