Maria Colomo

María Elida Colomo, 78, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away on October 7, 2024, in Fort Stockton, Texas at her home peacefully. 

Visitation for Mrs. Maria Colomo will be held October 9, 2024, from 2:00pm until 7:00pm with a rosary to begin at 7:00pm at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend 301 N. Main Street Fort Stockton, Texas. Funeral services for Mrs. Maria Colomo will be held on Thursday, October 10th, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church 401 S. Main Street at 10:00 m with Father Francis Njoku officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. 

Maria Colomo was born in Fort Stockton, Texas to Teodula Gonzales and Andres Castelo on September 22, 1946. She attended school in Fort Stockton, Texas where she met and married her forever love Manuel Colomo. She graduated from Fort Stockton High School then attended Midland College and received her nursing certification and worked as an LVN for Dr. Boon, Dr. Mallik and with Pecos County Memorial Hospital many years.

She enjoyed singing in the choir at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and spending time with her family and her friends. 

Maria is preceded in death by her parents Teodula and Andres, brother Pedro Gonzales, sister Carolina Fragozo, and granddaughter Suyen Ortega.

 Maria is survived by her children Manuel Colomo Jr., Veronica Holguin and Noe Ortega, Raquel and Amaro Villarreal, Albert and Elsa Colomo and Omar Colomo. Sisters Amparo and Memo Villa, Mary Ann and Jose Luis Diaz, brother Johnny and Leticia Gonzales, grandchildren Omar Colomo jr. Justin Holguin, Samuel and wife Fanny Holguin, Kirsten and husband Dillon Garcia, Noe Ortega, Ayden Ortega, Nathanial Villarreal, Elizabeth Villarreal, Cameron Colomo, Andre Colomo, Julieta Colomo, Sulley Colomo. Great grandchildren Darian Holguin, Brooklyn Garcia, Azryel Garcia, Kashton Garcia, Milanni Garcia, Samuel Holguin Jr. 

Pallbearers are Omar Colomo, Dillon Garcia, Nathanial Villarreal, Noe Ortega, Brooklyn Garcia, Elizabeth Villarreal, Azyrel Garcia and Sammuel Holguin

 Memorials may be given to Heritage Funeral home of the Big Bend in her honor. The family of Elida Colomo would like to thank everyone for their prayers.
