Nancy Jean Mitchell Stegall was born November 26, 1937, in San Antonio Texas, she went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ June 14, 2021, in Odessa, Texas. Nancy was born to Cecil and Lucile Mitchell. She graduated from Sanderson High School and married Charles E. Stegall on October 6, 1956. Nancy and Charles ranched in Pecos County for over 65 years. Nancy was a Sunday School teacher, a 4H leader, and a Girl Scout leader. Her passion was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nancy was instrumental in bringing the Terrell County Hunter's Feast to Sanderson and worked tireless hours to make it successful. She was always community driven and would often help-out by donating time and money to the Terrell County Fair Association, local school district and the First Presbyterian Church.
Nancy is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Stegall and a sister-in-law, Shirley Mitchell, and nephew, Michael Mitchell. Survivors include her children Darlene Stegall, Fort Stockton, TX; Robert Stegall, Sanderson, TX; Judy Stegall Houston (Clay) Sanderson, TX. Grandchildren are Shawn Stegall (Hanna) from Oklahoma City, Ok.; Brandee Stegall Monson (Kyle) Great Falls, Montana; Crystal Perez, (Fernie) Fort Stockton, TX, and Trevin, Madison, and Kolby Houston, Sanderson, TX. Great Grandchildren- Shawn Robert Stegall, Oklahoma City, OK, and Penelope Ann Galindo, Fort Stockton, TX, and Aelita Manson of Great Falls, Mont. She also survived by nephew Clay Mitchell, (Marka); brother David Mitchell (Sandra); great nephews Trey Mitchell (Julie) and Colby Mitchell (Lindsey).
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 17th, 2021, starting at 10:30AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Sanderson, Texas. The family has asked that flowers be ordered through Tis The Reason, Too. (Contact Ashley at 325-812-6320).
