Nicolasa “Lola” G. Aguilera of Fort Stockton passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones in Fort Stockton at the age of 85 years. She was born on January 4, 1934, to Carlos and Salome Guevara in Mexico.
Nicolasa was born in Mexico and moved to Texas in her twenties. She was married to Samuel Aguilera for 58 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother to all her children and grandchildren. She loved to garden, knit, sew, and cook delicious meals for her family. She loved to go on her walks and she was able to climb to the top of the Sun Pyramid in Mexico at the age of 75.
Nicolasa is survived by her husband, Samuel Aguilera; her sons, Rene Minjarez of Fort Stockton, Osvaldo Aguilera of San Antonio, Samuel Aguilera Jr. of San Antonio; her daughters, Anna Minjarez of Odessa, Nellie Villarreal of Marfa, Elva Gaitan of Fort Stockton, Marisa Aguilera of San Antonio; her brothers, Jose Guevara of Odessa, Jesus Guevara of Ojinaga; her sister, Edenina Zuniga of Chihuahua; her fourteen grandchildren; and her seventeen great grandchildren.
Nicolasa is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be on Monday, November 25, 2019, from 3pm-7pm at Heritage Funeral Home with rosary at 7pm. Funeral service will begin at 2pm on Tuesday, November 26, 2019, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Downtown Campus, formerly Saint Joseph Catholic Church, in Fort Stockton, Texas. Burial will follow at the Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery in Fort Stockton, Texas.
