Pablo Chavez

Pablo Ramos Chavez, of Fort Stockton, Texas, passed away July 21, 2020, in Fort Stockton, Texas, at the age of 84.

He was born and raised in the Oldest Historic house of Fort Stockton on September 9, 1935, to Tino and Maria Chavez. In April of 1956, he married his wife Petra Rodriguez. They were married for 64 years. In March of 1974, together they own and operate Fort Stockton Body Shop which is currently operated today by his children.

Pablo’s greatest joy was spending time with his children and grandchildren. Pablo and Petra enjoyed attending academic and sport activities with their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing and playing lots of golf.

Pablo is preceded in death by his father, Tino Chavez, his mother, Maria R Chavez, and his brother Margie Chavez; two great grandchildren Anthony Díaz and Daidrian Montes. He is survived by his loving wife, Petra Chavez; brother Benjamin Chavez (wife Criselda); sister Anjelica Chávez García, Aurora Chavez(sister-in-law); three sons, Joe Ray Chavez (wife, Angie), Ronnie Chavez (wife, Dionicia) and Jerome Chavez (wife, Linda); daughter Gloria Ortiz (husband Gilbert) all of Fort Stockton.

Nine grandchildren: Selina Calderon, Carissa Chavez, Lily Corral, Erlinda Chavez, Brandon Chavez, Isaiah Ortiz, Ejay Ortiz, Ryan Chavez and Ayden Chavez; nine great-grandchildren: Joseph Diaz, Angela Diaz, Izabella Diaz, Elina Montes, DJ Montes, Jeremiah González, Brydan González, Azalea Montes, and Jace Franco.

Private services will be held by the family.
