Paul Robert Weyerts Jr. of Fort Stockton passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018, in Grand Falls, Texas, at the age of 50 years. He was born on June 20, 1967, in Fort Stockton, Texas, to Dr. Paul R. Weyerts and Beverly Thorn Weyerts.
Robert is survived by his wife, Amy Surratt Weyerts of Fort Stockton, Son Keith Allan Weyerts of Fort Stockton, daughter Shannon Kathleen Weyerts of Fort Stockton, brother, Albert Thorn and sister, Lucy Schneider.
Robert grew up in Alpine and Sanderson, Texas. He graduated from Alpine High School in 1985. He graduated from Tarleton State University with a BS degree in Ag Business. He married Amy Surratt January 1, 1994. He worked for Stewart Catlin CPA Firm from 1993-1995. He began working at Sanderson State Bank in 1996 and continued working there until 2004 when his family moved to For Stockton and he began working at Pecos State Bank until 2012. From 2012 to present he was working for Barbee Wrecker Service.
Robert was on the Board of the Pecos County Livestock Show and the Matthies-Bennett Scholarship Board. He always enjoyed helping the kids at the stock shows, horse shows, and rodeos.
Robert was the true definition of a hard worker and always gave 100[%]. He was also a devoted family man. He was a person that would do anything for the kids. He was always very involved with his kids and their love of rodeos and stock showing. He was always helping other people and continually knew how to put a smile on people's faces by giving them a hard time about something.
Pallbearers are: Vic Patton, Brice Womack, Bill Stewart, Warren Cude, Kelly Craven, Johnny Barbee, Bobby Stegall, and Mike Dumas.
Honorary Pallbearers are: Terry Johnson, Paul Golliher, Brandon Daniels, Cesar Martinez, and Fabian Matta.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday June 21, 2018 at 10:00am at the Pecos County Civic Center in Fort Stockton, Texas. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery in Fort Stockton, Texas. In lieu of flowers the family asks to please make donations to the West Texas Boys Ranch.
