Ramon T. "Roman" Gonzales was born August 9, 1937 and left this world on August 18, 2018 at the age of 81 years.
Ramon loved life and loved God with all his heart, mind, and soul. His first ambition in life was to talk to others about how wonderful God is. He cared for all souls and he showed it through his actions. A very humbled and selfless husband, father, step-father, grandfather, and friend. He was the gardener at Pecos County State Bank.
Ramon is survived by his wife, Maria Almodova Gonzales of 16 years; 5 daughters, Sally Pichardo of Fort Stockton, Anna G. Rodriguez and husband Rudy of Fort Stockton, Martha G. Rodriguez and husband Juan of Fort Stockton, Esmeralda G. Olvera and husband Ruben of Snyder, Olga Gonzales and husband Manuel of Coleman; 2 stepdaughters, Manuela Arevalo of Stockton, CA, Blanca Padilla and husband Mark of Alpine; 2 stepsons, Adan Leija of CA, Raynaldo Ramirez of Odessa; 16 grandchildren; 8 step grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Margarita Herrera, Sylvia Quilo, Maria Isabel Valles; 2 brothers, Valente and Henry Gonzales; and all his brothers and sisters in Christ.
He is preceded in death by parents, Heriberto Gonzales and Margarita Tavarez; stepmother, Sara Gonzales; first wife, Santa (Santitos) R. Gonzales; 2 infant sons, Gilbert and Arturo Gonzales; 2 grandsons, Jerich Olvera and David Hernandez; 5 brothers, Cruz, David, Ray, Albert Gonzales, and Alfonso Delao.
2 Timothy 4:7--I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4: 8--Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.
