Mrs. Romelia Sanchez Armendariz age 87, of Fort Stockton, peacefully passed away Sunday January 24, 2021 at her residence.
She was born May 4, 1933, in Escobillas, Chihuahua Mexico, a daughter of the late Jose Sanchez and Andrea Almazan Sanchez.
Romelia was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Martin Armendariz, one brother; Gaudencio Sanchez, sister; Alicia Carrasco.
She was a wonderful seamstress and homemaker. She enjoyed drinking coffee, making traditional Mexican food, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Romelia is survived by one son Martin Armendariz Jr. Of Fort Stockton, three daughters; Elida Fabela (George) of Fort Stockton, Arcelia Contreras (Octavio) of Fort Stockton, and Alma Cordero (Jesus) of Fort Stockton; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brothers, Rogelio, Efrain, Anselmo and Arnulfo; sisters Concepcion Ortiz, Rosa Rangel and Nora Vasquez.
She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Visitation is from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Heritage Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Fort Stockton, with Father Hatch officiating. Burial will follow at Fort Stockton Catholic Cemetery.
