Rosendo Jaquez Montoya of Imperial, Texas passed away Sunday, February 4th, 2018, in Fort Stockton, Texas at the age of 88 years. He was born on March 1, 1929 in Midland, Texas to Carlos Montoya and Conception Jaquez Montoya.
Rosendo was born in Midland Texas and moved to Imperial at a young age where he lived for over 80 years. He was a retired heavy equipment operator where he worked for many years. He also worked for the Water District in Imperial and He worked with Texas A&M where he helped develop the first experimental shrimp farm in Imperial. However, he was most proud that he served at Imperial Volunteer Fire Dept., Where he was Fire Chief for several years, and fireman of the year in 1974. He was a great provider to his family and greatly respected in the community and took great care of his family.
Rosendo is survived by his wife; Aurelia Montoya, sons; Danny Montoya and wife Veronica of Artesia Nm, Daughters; Rosa Moreno of Abilene, Diana Garcia of Abilene, Elma Dominguez of Monahans, and Mary Ellen Montoya of Nashville TN. He has thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren
Rosendo is preceded in death by his father Carlos Montoya and mother; Conception Montoya and son Rosendo Montoya Jr.
Visitation will be on Wednesday February 7th from 3pm to 5pm at Heritage Funeral Home, and 6pm at Our Lady of Lourdes in Imperial Texas. Funeral service will be on Thursday February 8th 2018, beginning at 11:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes in Imperial, Texas. Burial will follow at Imperial Cemetery in Imperial, Texas.
