Roy Short

Roy Wayne Short of Fort Stockton passed away Monday, March 21st, 2016, in Fort Stockton at the age of seventy five years. Roy was born on June 9th, 1940, to Curtis and Frankie Hannum Short in San Angelo, Texas. He served in the U.S. Army for two years in Fort Polk, Louisiana. He worked for Firestone for twenty-three years and then the Pecos County Sheriff's Department for another twelve years before retiring.
Roy is survived by his son: David Short and wife Delma of Midland; his two daughters: Sandra Billingsley and husband Michael of Boerne, Texas, and Gretta McKissack and husband Dudley of Fort Stockton; his five grandchildren: Maddy Short, Jacob Short, Ryan Short, Abby Billingsley, and Caleb Billingsley.
Roy is preceded in death by his wife: Maudie Mitchell Short and his parents: Curtis and Frankie Short.
A private service will take place on a future date.
