Sandra Porter

Sandra Lynn Porter, age 81, passed away on November 26 in Iraan, Texas. Sandra was born on February 17, 1932 in Wichita Falls Texas. Her parents were Mofyt and Gladys Russell. Sandra graduated from Fort Stockton High School in 1949 and then attended Texas Christian University and graduated in 1953. She married Gerald Porter on July 10, 1953. They started their life at the ranch south of Fort Stockton and raised 3 children. They spent years following Fort Stockton High School football, livestock shows and other family interests. Sandras greatest joy was caring for her family and friends. She was a member of the Fort Stockton First United Methodist Church, Fort Stockton Garden Club and the Texas Sheep Goat Raisers Auxiliary.
Sandra is survived by her husband, Gerald Porter her daughter, Sheridan PorterPurvis and husband Wade of Fort Stockton grandson, Chase her son Lane Porter and wife Wendy and grandchildren, Levin and Carlie of Fort Stockton her son Scott Porter and wife Kathy and grandchildren, Makayla, Krystal, Raylynn and Tandra of New Braunfels and by her sister Connie Harral many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will take place on Saturday, November 30 from 2:003:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in downtown Fort Stockton. Graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at East Hill Cemetery with Rev. Neely Landrum officiating.
The family offers sincere thanks to the staff of Iraan General Hospital who cared for Sandra during her battle with Alzheimers. In lieu of flowers the family request a donation be made to a special charity or organization of your choice.
