Steven Beard

Steven Scott Beard, 65, beloved father, grandfather, and brother passed away on October 22, 2020. Born on October 15, 1955, in Fort Stockton, Texas, he was a resident of Fort Stockton most of his life. He left West Texas as an adult, working as a truck driver in Arkansas and the DFW metroplex. Work in the system prison brought him back to Fort Stockton, where he lived for the remainder of his life. Scott loved cooking and particularly loved cooking for others. He was a self-taught musician and played multiple instruments. An avid Dallas Cowboys fan for decades, he never missed watching a game.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jimmie Lee and George Beard, and his sister, Becky McGuairt. He is survived by his daughter Christine Brock of Mansfield, Texas, son and daughter-in-law Brad and Leah Beard of Northlake, Texas, son Jordan Beard of Greenville, Texas, son Dillon Beard of McKinney, Texas, sister and brother-in-law Jan and Bubba Luce of Granbury, Texas, brother and sister-in-law Monte and Patsy Beard of Fort Stockton, grandchildren Lauren Brock and Mercer Beard, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2020, at 3:00 pm. at First Presbyterian Church in Fort Stockton. Memorials can be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Stockton.
