Sylvia V. Rodriguez, age 65, was received into heaven on Sunday, December 8, 2019. She was surrounded by her daughters and husband. She was born June 13, 1954 in Big Spring, Texas to Domingo “Sandy” and Arjelia Vargas. She married Mario Rodriguez on October 16, 1976.
Sylvia served 35 years of civil service to the Fort Stockton Independent School District as a job site coach. She touched the lives of many students and believed in each and everyone one of them. Her passion and dedication to her students will always be remembered. Sylvia was a well-respected woman in the community. Her charismatic personality and lively sense of humor will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband of forty three years, Mario Rodriguez; daughters Erica Brito and husband Sam of San Antonio, Texas, D’ana Arzia and husband Alex of Lubbock, Texas, Dora Rodriguez, of Fort Stockton, Texas, Marion Figueroa and husband Evan of Richardson, Texas, and Sylvia Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas; sister Mary Pacheco, brother Richard Vargas, and ten grandchildren who she dearly loved and adored.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents Domingo and Arjelia Vargas; brothers Domingo Vargas and Jimmy Vargas.
The family would like to give special thanks to Texas Oncology Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, Dr. Gregory Guzley, and his medical staff.
Celebration of life will be held Saturday, December 21st, at 2PM at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend, 301 N. Main, Fort Stockton, Texas.
