Thomas Judson Stewart, 85, passed away at his home in Sanderson, Texas on Friday, December 6, 2013. He was born in El Paso, Texas on August 2, 1928, graduated from Ysleta High School and attended Texas Western College now University of Texas at El Paso. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a long time member of First United Methodist Church, Sanderson Post 160 American Legion, and Masonic Lodge of Sanderson. He married Barbara Bramwell in1951, and they celebrated their 62nd anniversary on August 3, 2013. He was employed as a locomotive engineer for Southern Pacific Railroad for 42 years and was a member of Division 566 of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, serving as secretary treasurer for 15 years.
He is survived by wife Barbara of Sanderson, son Ronald T. Stewart of El Paso, daughter Sheryl Cooke and her husband Mike of Cypress, grandchildren Daniel Stewart of El Paso, Matthew Cooke and Sean Cooke of Cypress. Funeral services are to be held at First United Methodist Church in Sanderson
