Thomas "Nunley" Warren, age 89, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2015. He was born on February 11, 1926 to Dewy and Rose Warren in Valdosta, GA. He moved to Live Oak, Florida at the age of 3 and grew up as a shear crop farmer. He left High School in his senior year to join the Army for WWII. After the war he started a pop wood and pole business and he got rained out from cutting for two years straight, so he was headed out to Organ to cut red wood. When his truck broke down in Odessa, he met Jack Baker and went to work for him painting storage tanks for the oil company in 1950 until he came to Fort Stockton in 1964. He had bought a vending company named Pecos Vending CO. along with Sandy Lounge and he bought Goodtimes. The down turn in the 1980's and most of the lounges shut down he sold the vending co and just ran his two lounges. He was best known around town as "Nunley" our Boss. He owned Sandy's and Good time's Lounges and ran them for 50 years.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas N Warren JR and Ronnie Warren; his grandchildren, Rhonda Garlick, Geona Loather, Ronnie Petit, Debbie Nygaard, Susan Warren, Ronnie Warren II, Robyn Warren, and James Warren; his greatgrandchildren, Josh Nygaard, Zachery Nygaard, Tiffany Colder, Trinity Warren, Tristan Warren, Cameryn Warren, Levi Warren, Hayley Cates, Capri Garlick, and Loyrn Garlick; and his great-greatgrandchild, Noble Nygaard, Courtney Loather.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Warren; his brothers, Dewey Warren Charlie Warren, Henry Warren, Dick Warren, and Buck Warren; his sisters, Eula Warren, Eva Warren, Clyde Crews, and Maggie Hernden; his daughter, Jeanne Petit; his grandchildren, Cecil Warren and Tommy Warren III.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, October 28th, 2015 from 6-8p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in downtown Fort Stockton. The funeral service will be held at the Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday, October 29th, 2015 at 1p.m. with burial following at the East hill Cemetery.
